A new season brings new possibilities, but my climbing question is immediate: which deck styles deserve attention while the field is still unsettled?

## [Cerebro](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/cerebro) 3 Is Open Again, if You Can Read Your Opponent

Cerebro 3 is back in the conversation. The door is open again, though I would not call it an easy climb deck.

For now, I kept returning to [Daredevil](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/daredevil) and [Kingpin](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/kingpin) as the solid core. Kingpin helps control movement plays and can lower the ceiling in one lane against decks that want to move power around. Daredevil helps line up [Cosmo](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/cosmo) more precisely, while information about how tall an opponent may go on turn five can change where I place Cerebro afterward.

The rest of the build still has room to move. I kept [Luke Cage](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/luke-cage) and [Scarlet Witch](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/scarlet-witch), while [Sentinel](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/sentinel), Daredevil, and Kingpin are flex slots. You need to understand the opponent early.

By turn three, I want a read on what I am facing. If I do not have a clue by then, I am likely already behind. Cerebro 3 rewards a proactive turn-one plan, a clear sense of where the game is going by the end of turn two, and then play to the draws that follow.

This is the hardest deck of the three, yet it is a good choice for players who can make those early reads and use the information to protect their Cerebro lane.

## Negative Destroy Has Answers for Opening-Week Habits

Negative Destroy earns its place even after [Star-Lord, Master of the Sun](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/star-lord-master-of-the-sun) lost two points of power. The reason to play it is not [Star-Lord](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/star-lord). The reason is that Mr. Negative looks well suited to this moment.

I do not make a habit of promoting Mr. Negative, but a deck can be right for a specific meta window.

[Merlin](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/merlin) is at about a 10% meta share now, and [Legion](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/legion) is in a downswing. It is a meaningful change for a deck that wants more time to set up.

I also expect more Hood, rocks, and other small cards. The Star-Lord nerf removes a Shang Chi target that mattered to this build before, so Shang Chi is now a backup plan to factor in on the final turn.

Gore is another reason I like the direction. I expect more On Reveal play this week, which raises Gore's value. I expect to see more combo, Negative, discard, and regular destroy as players return to comfort decks.

If I negative Star-Lord, Master of the Sun, it has much better value as a final-turn card. I think this is probably the better Mr. Negative direction for this particular week.

## Ongoing Gives [Stardust](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/stardust) a Launch-Week Job

My third choice is straightforward: play Ongoing. Stardust could be a launch-week problem. Ongoing is one of the deck styles that best works alongside Stardust.

I am leaning toward the version that includes an option to move Cosmo. Keeping an opponent unsure whether Cosmo will move, and when, can be as powerful as having Daredevil information if you know how and when to move it.

I tried to make room for other cards, including [Spectrum](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/spectrum), but I am not presenting one perfect configuration. The important point is the package. Ongoing has several ways to be built, and I want you to adjust it to your own play style rather than treat every slot as fixed.

I think the package can be very strong going into the season, and I worry about how strong it could become, though that is up for interpretation. Keep an eye on Ongoing through the week, especially when Stardust is nearby.

Still, the start of a season is a crapshoot. Players will bring comfort decks, and the field will not follow a single script.

If all else fails, play something you are comfortable with. I will point toward decks that fit the moment, but some cards will remain good regardless of the opening-week noise. Play what you like, keep the meta in view, and expect next week to feel very different in Marvel Snap.
