Tall cards are forcing a deckbuilding choice: build to counter them, or spread points and hope.

## When I Save an Early Hammer for the Final Turn

Versions of this hammer shell have been around for a while. I still think it deserves more respect. The amount of power that comes out of this list is quite insane.

The final turn is the point. When an early hammer shows up, I prefer to save it for the end under [Odin](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/odin) rather than play it in a front lane and have it swapped away. That preference is why I moved away from an earlier version. Much of the setup is worth keeping, while the final-turn pieces are the cards I actually want to cycle through.

I also chose not to overload the list with small cards. [Pixie](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/pixie) creates access to bigger plays that would otherwise be harder to fit into the closing turns. Odin is now 10 power.

I swapped in Gore after moving away from an earlier version. He gets stronger with more Asgardians, hammers, and On Reveals. He has not seen much play since he was taken out of the negative deck. In this shell, I see Gore as a buff. Pixie can make another big card more playable on the final turns.

Mobius remains relevant for now. The additional Technoorganic Virus buff means more people are going to play that card.

I have seen a Strife version that removes the Pixie package. I could lean further into the hammers with Grandmaster, another one-drop, or another zero-cost card.

What matters is the shell. I see it as strong, unpredictable, and capable of delivering competitive power without giving up the fun of distinct games. If you want a list that is aiming for a dramatic final turn, this is where I would start.

## [High Evolutionary](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/high-evolutionary) Gives Me a Counter Plan

When I wanted a tech deck, I did not go back to the older tech version because I did not think it could keep up. I landed on High Evolutionary instead and gave it a more modern, counter-focused twist.

High Evolutionary puts [Cyclops](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/cyclops) and [Hulk](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/hulk) into the mix. There are different versions of the shell. [Misty Knight](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/misty-knight) is an available option if you want a shorter build. I’m less on the [Sunspot](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/sunspot) and [She-Hulk](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/she-hulk) build right now and more interested in what the High Evolutionary build represents. There are a lot of variations of High Evolutionary.

[Star-Lord Master of the Sun](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/star-lord-master-of-the-sun) also deserves attention in this version right now. I want it to die, yet I think players who have skipped it should be playing it right now. My position is plain: it is good, really good, and really strong. Do not sleep on it.

Strife is optional here. You could easily lean this back into a more affliction-based build if you want to.

[Cosmo](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/cosmo) is central to this approach. I call it the best counter card in the game, and I think playing it on turn four with some accuracy can steal wins. This weekend, I expect players to be doing Destroy missions because of Archangel, which makes [Armor](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/armor) especially relevant. It can protect my big cards while also interfering with a Destroy plan. Depending on the game, having Armor and Cosmo together can create a snap condition.

With this build, I do not always get priority on the final turns. [Juggernaut](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/juggernaut) fits that situation.

Tall cards are the reason I am revisiting this kind of construction. I still acknowledge that spreading points can work, and I point to Doom 2099 as a route that can generate an enormous amount of power. This High Evolutionary build takes the first answer.

## A Recently Buffed Build With More Lines

The third direction starts with a possibility, not a certainty. I think [Wolverine Horseman of War](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/wolverine-horseman-of-war)’s new buff may present something interesting, so I went back to the decks I was playing when it first arrived and adjusted a build specifically around it.

[Captain Carter](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/captain-carter) is part of that discussion, though I do not treat the interaction as settled. I have said [Wolverine](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/wolverine) Horseman of War needs more synergies than Captain Carter, and I still do not think this is necessarily its best synergy. It is a synergy. A point from KM made me reconsider the synergy.

[Agony](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/agony) gives the build several places to work. It can go on Captain Carter, Wolverine Horseman of War, or [Viv Vision](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/viv-vision). A [Scarlet Spider](https://itsguestgaming.com/marvel-snap/cards/scarlet-spider) placed alone in a lane can also lead into an Agony plus Wolverine Horseman of War play on turn five. Those options are why I wanted more than a single predictable setup. The value is in the placements and in how the power gets distributed across the board.

Captain Carter remains the ongoing element I carried forward because I think it is the best card from that earlier style of build. I chose against the activate line because, even though it is good, I find it predictable. My goal was a version I could take into Conquest with more diversity and more play lines than the opponent may see coming.

I see this as the fairest way to combine the Wolverine Horseman of War package with a broader gameplan.

## Playing the Meta Is Part of Moving It

These are not the only decks I think can work. Doom 2099 and other established variations remain on the table. My broader position is that if we want strong decks to fade, we have to bring them to the front of people’s minds. Play them. Teach the lines. Expand on the strategies. As more players understand what makes a deck strong, the environment changes.

That is one of the things I value about Marvel Snap as a live-service game. We can have flexibility without compromising performance.
