What does a planned move back to New York mean for me and my Marvel Snap content? My family and I are planning to move this summer, if all goes well, and I am taking on a third job to create the stability that can make that move possible.
I do not have every detail locked in yet. What I can say clearly is that I am not walking away from content or from Marvel Snap. I am building a structure that lets me keep making content with intention instead of publishing just for the sake of publishing.
From Necessity to a Kind of Purpose
My wife and I moved to Brazil in March 2020, right as the pandemic made an already major life change far more uncertain. I was trying to build a life in a new country, with a new language and culture, without an immediate path into normal work. Content creation did not begin as a polished career plan. It began as a need to figure things out.
That need became a kind of purpose. During that first year, I learned how to make videos, live stream, and build a community around games and my own social world. The process made me a better communicator, even when I did not know whether Marvel Snap content would work long term.
Marvel Snap became a major part of that journey when my first Snap content went live in November 2022. A turning point came when Second Dinner recognized my rework of its IGN presentation around Deadpool's Diner. That recognition mattered because it showed me that the work, detail, and care I was putting in could be seen by the people making the game.
I hit Twitch Partner live while Twitch editors and administrators raided the chat and pointed me toward the email. Then SnapCon in Tampa let me meet players, viewers, and creators I had known online face to face.
A More Intentional Channel Schedule
I balance the channel alongside other work. Alongside full-time content creation, I am the executive producer and co-founder of Game Ons, the company behind Golden Gauntlet. The third job is a major professional step and part of the opportunity for my family to return to New York.
Balancing my first two roles pushed me toward more intentional content and a more concentrated live schedule. I used to be live four or five days a week. My live schedule is now much more concentrated, around Tuesday and Wednesday, while YouTube has taken on a stronger rhythm through recurring series, uploads, and more Shorts.
The point is not to publish simply because I feel pressure to upload. I want what I put out to have relevance and a reason for you to spend time with it.
The Ban List, Three Decks, and Good or Garbage Stay Put
The core Marvel Snap programming remains in place.
- The Ban List with Not My Dance stays weekly. It is where two players who care deeply about Marvel Snap discuss what they think can be improved.
- Three Decks Worth Your Cubes This Week is staying too. That series exists for players who do not need 10 to 14 decks every week. All they want is a couple of focused, practical decks they can learn to pilot.
- Good or Garbage remains a core weekly card review after I have play-tested the cards.
Every other Thursday will make room for evergreen work: guides, deep dives, tier lists, psychology breakdowns, and strategy content for newer and longtime players.
Marvel SnapCast is also remaining part of the overall schedule. My weekly show with KM Best continues to premiere on the Marvel SnapCast channel. The formats will keep evolving, but the commitment to Snap remains consistent.
Coming Home With a New Perspective
After six years in Brazil, returning to New York carries a lot of emotion. I was born there, and I have family there, so in a lot of ways it feels like coming home. At the same time, Brazil changed my career, confidence, view of work, and relationship with my family. If all goes according to plan, I’ll return with a perspective I did not have before.
New York also represents opportunity for my whole family. There are possibilities for me in tech, events, content creation, and other areas that I cannot fully explore until I am there. I do not pretend that I know exactly how every part of the move will unfold. The plan is still conditional, and some details remain open.
If the content has helped you, introduce me to one person who might benefit from it too.
